2004

was off to a great start come February, 2004, when the Burchat Family Reunion Committee officially presented us with the gift of an old log farmhouse that came from the homestead of Joseph Burchat and family who arrived in the area in 1868.

At Kashub Day, May 1, 2004, tribute was paid to the first Polish Kashub churches with the addition of a scooped roof shelter(below, left) built to showcase the iron cross salvaged from the first Polish parish church of St. Stanislaus Kostka which burnt in 1936.

On August 14, 2004, the Canadians who fought for Poland in Haller's Army in WWI were honoured with a special Polish Soldiers' Day Tribute and the opening of a permanent exhibit at the Museum. Fr. Mervin Coulas stands in front of the display with his father's [Paul Coulas/Kulas] Polish Forces uniform on the mannequin.
